This guide summarizes the shortest path for a new researcher or project lead: confirm prerequisites, request an allocation, receive access details, and upload data through Nextcloud or a mounted WebDAV path.

Institutional or research affiliation with a CRISPIE participating institution or approved project.

A role such as research faculty, principal investigator, or designated project lead.

A clear use case for data transfer, storage needs, collaborators, and workflow integration.

Getting started workflow

Get access

Follow the steps on the Request Access page to log in with your institutional IDP, contact support to enable your account, and receive your account details.

Open Nextcloud

Log in to the Nextcloud web interface at https://nextcloud.crispie.njedge.net/, verify your assigned project folder, and confirm that permissions look correct.

Choose access method

Use the web interface for small and medium interactive work, or WebDAV for large files, batch transfers, and cluster workflows.

  • Describe the project or research group that needs storage.
  • Estimate anticipated storage and data movement needs.
  • List collaborators who will require access.
  • Note integration needs such as WebDAV, Globus, OSG, NRP, ACCESS, or NAIRR Pilot.
